Side by side
| Relia | Sentry | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | $0: 500,000 units a month (a request or a log line is 1 unit), 7 days of history, 3 services, 5 uptime monitors. | Developer, $0: 1 user, 5,000 errors, 5 million spans, 50 replays, 1 uptime monitor, 5 GB of logs, 30-day lookback. |
| First paid plan | Growth, $12 a month: 5 million units, 30 days of history, 10 services, 20 uptime monitors. Pro is $29. | Team, $29 a month ($26 billed annually): unlimited users, 50,000 errors, up to 90-day lookback. Business is $89. |
| As you grow | Over the limit, normal traffic is sampled 1 in 10 and errors are always kept; nothing is cut off. Growth and Pro can add paid use at $2 per million units, with a limit you set. | Billed by data volume, with reserved volume and a pay-as-you-go budget. Data sent after both are used up is dropped. |
| What it watches | Requests and traces, errors, logs, database calls, servers, browser sessions, web vitals, uptime checks and AI-agent runs. | Errors, tracing, session replay, profiling, logs, metrics, cron and uptime monitors, and LLM monitoring. |
| Uptime and status page | Uptime and synthetic checks, and a public status page kept current from Relia's own checks. | Uptime and cron monitors. We found no hosted public status page in Sentry's product docs. |
| On-call | On-call rotation with escalation, Slack mentions and PagerDuty. | Through integrations such as PagerDuty. |
| What the AI does | Turns what it sees into incidents written in plain words with the evidence cited, writes fix plans with a brief for your AI assistant, and checks after you deploy whether the fix worked. | Seer analyses an issue's root cause; its Autofix can generate a code fix and create a pull request. |
| Does it change your code | No. It has no access to your repository and never opens pull requests. A rollback or restart through your deploy platform runs only after you approve it. | When you ask: Seer creates pull requests through its GitHub or GitLab app. |
| AI price | Included in every plan, with monthly counts: Free has 300 incident write-ups, 3 fix plans and 30 questions. | Seer is a paid add-on on Team and above: $40 per active contributor a month. |
| Setup | npm install relia-sdk, then npx relia init (Python: pip install relia-sdk, then python -m relia). | A setup wizard, for example npx @sentry/wizard@latest -i nextjs. |
Choose Sentry if
- Error tracking and profiling are the centre of your work and you want deep tooling for them.
- You want an AI that drafts the code fix and opens the pull request.
- You need to self-host: Sentry is source-available under its Functional Source License.
Choose Relia if
- You want one tool for the whole product, servers, uptime, status page and on-call included.
- You want to be told in plain words what needs you, with the cause and the next step.
- You want the AI in the plan you already pay for, and nothing touching your code.
Switching from Sentry
Can I run Relia next to Sentry while I decide?
Yes. Relia installs as its own SDK and removes nothing, so you can run both while you compare. If your app already runs an OpenTelemetry tracer provider, Relia adds itself to it instead of starting a second one.
How long does setup take?
About five minutes: npm install relia-sdk, then npx relia init, which signs you in, asks what to watch and writes one file. Python apps use pip install relia-sdk, then python -m relia.
Does Relia change my code or open pull requests?
No. Relia has no access to your repository and never opens pull requests. It never acts on your servers on its own either: a rollback or restart it proposes through a platform you connected runs only after an owner or admin approves it. It writes a fix plan from the incident's evidence, with a brief you can copy into your AI assistant, and after you deploy it checks live traffic to tell you whether the fix worked.
What happens when I go over my plan's units?
Nothing is cut off. Normal traffic is sampled 1 in 10 and errors are always kept. On Growth and Pro you can switch on paid extra use at $2 per million units, with a limit you set.
How soon does Relia know what normal looks like for my app?
It starts learning from the first request and builds its picture of normal from about four weeks of your own traffic.
